So all I can do is look at screen shots, hope that the beta tester deciding people email me, and wait for this ffxiv thing to come to me. I need a release date so I can make sure I have the freshest pc available to enjoy it... that's right, my life is revolving around a game that isn't even released yet.

I mean, that's normal, right?!

I would assume towards the end of this year is when it'll be launched, as it's about to go into beta sometime relatively soon? Or that's what I hope.

As soon as it launches, I'll be all over FF14. If they learned their lessons from FFXI, and include alot more solo content, as well make it not so much of a timesink to get simple things done, I think it could very well challenge even WoW. Which I'll be dropping as well when FF14 launches Laughing

Smelly Debo!

Yeah, see, I have fears of it being too easy, though. Like, WoW is awesome, it's just, I took a lot of pride in Lumi bein' all growns up to a lvl 75 pld! Because it took -forever-.

As long as FFXIV sticks to what I think WoW lacks most, which is the camaraderie, I'll be sucked in. And I think that's what came from being forced to party for -everything-. WoW, a lot of solo, less linkshell type stuff that ff had to offer...

So, a good balance of party/solo, they got Lumi. I wish they'd at least let you mess around and build your character. I mean, Lumi was hot in FFXI, but just wait until you see her 3 installments later. She keeps up with the trends.

I keep getting confused over alpha or beta, or what. They said this is just the alpha phase starting March 11, then articles say it's the beta, then some say it's both. All I know is, I'm not in either of those phases.

So, they released a benchmark for the game on the FFXIV website if anyone was wondering how the game would look or perform. It's among the top PC graphics I've seen, so I expect quite a few FFXI players are going to have to upgrade (myself included, only got a 2900 on the bench).

Some of the new videos show some solo content, and they sped up the battles from alpha to beta, and I got a better look at how the combat could work, but it's shaping up to be incredible.

Wow.... at the highest resolution, I only benched a 1600 >_< I'm gonna need to update my graphics card because that's the only bottleneck in my PC if I were to get this game Razz

There's an official release date of Sept. 30 for the PC version. Also, the game looks so beautiful, ahhhhh.... not sure if I'm gonna jump in on this one though ;(
